Instead Of A Show
How is it that Tiger Woods earns a whopping $55000 dollars to place a cap upon the crown of his head, but a factory worker in a developing country working in sweatshop conditions is only given $4 per day to produce hundreds of the same thing? Ka-ching, Ka-ching, the tills ring in day in and day out: rhythmically resounding “CAPITALISM”. Picture that in bright, bold and red font. It is so blatant yet we buy in anyway, because we are used to its workings. I find this rather disturbing.
I wonder when that will change. We are all guilty in one way or another. Yes, the system is broken, but we can fix the cracks and holes. How? You may ask. The answer is simple. Make choices to help out whenever you can, because in giving you receive so much more.
Slam me for being an idealist, but I believe love works in so many different ways. Nothing can make my day better than knowing some child/family somewhere in an impoverished place is smiling because others have rendered help. It is the type of moment where I can feel my heart bursting forth with joy.
So instead of a show, let’s help those who are weak to stand and be strong :)
